Featured Art: Omeed Boghraty Revolutionizes the Resume
There is a new, very-tired catch phrase infested in our daily exchanges. While it may take on different forms, do not be deceived. “You’re lucky to have a job,” “It’s nearly impossible to even get an interview these days,” and “Don’t feel bad, it’s really hard to find something right now,” essentially all mean the same thing: It’s recession time. Panic is contagious and everybody’s livelihood feels vulnerable.
In times like these, it seems the only solution is to get resourceful. Forget the typical black-and-white trash-bin lining lists of unremarkable achievements. The below “resume” is one of the most brash, unique and controversial reactions to the Wall street roller-coaster we have all been bound to for the past year and a half.
2008-UCLA graduate Omeed Boghraty was able to parlay this clever alternative to the traditional CV into his current position as a creative assistant at a prestigious Los Angeles advertising firm. Love it or hate it, you’ve got to admit that it grabs you:
