It’s 2 a.m., and the “frenzy” of last call doesn’t seem to be settling very well in your stomach. Where will you ever find a civilized dining establishment to quell your drunken munchies and tomorrow’s hangover? Or are you doomed to “double down” at KFC? What follows is a solid list of late night options for those times when you’re drunkenly drawing a blank.

Buddyhead and BadEducation are curating and hosting a smashing rock n’ roll experience this Friday, April 23rd at the ‘Department of Flying Vehicles,’ in Silverlake. This brand new venue promises to be THE place for art shows, concerts, parties and pansexual pancake-batter wrestling events (small joke).

Hidden away in an unmarked location off of Sunset in Hollywood, Freak City is a late-night hangout—a cavernous two story space comprised of dimly lit rooms with walls sheathed in graffiti and art, music, dancing and dark corners. On the top floor is a vintage clothing store, which is open for events and by appointment only.

Amidst the pandemonium and the lingering scent of weed, Snoop sauntered onto the stage wearing a translucent do-rag, shades, and a sexual black Adidas track suit. There are a few things in life that can make me pee in my pants, and this moment was certainly one of them.

Now, there is absolutely nothing wrong with a diverse crowd and a fruity martini. But if you want H.Wood to be the Friday night hotspot for rich hipsters and the cast of the Hills, you have to deliver on your promises.

This past Saturday my roommates (Serious ‘Stache contributors) and I decided to open our Beachwood Canyon abode to neighbors, friends, and apparently, Kiefer Sutherland. That’s the beauty of Los Angeles; you never know which inebriated movie star will totter through your door– even if it is 4am and you are the only one left standing, cleaning beer cans and cigarette butts off the floor.

I have never been one to even entertain the idea of standing in a mile-long line for a Dane Cook show, so perhaps my radar for what works or doesn’t work in comedy is largely misguided. But one thing is a surety: I’ll sit in a crowded, tiny room, on a stair in the corner to see Taylor Bos perform again.
